Cone markers are available in a variety of vibrant colours. The idea is to use the cone’s colour as a visual cue for you to focus on and track while training, because high frequency colours ensure a high visual spectrum of cone markers and better field presence and long field training sessions.
Following are some cone marker drills for agility on field:-
Criss-Cross Drill
The Criss-Cross Drill works on multiple body postures; change of direction with different angles and change of footwork are both emphasised during this drill.
Pro-Agility Drill
This drill also requires three cones, also known as the 5-10-5, the most popular combine drill for measuring quickness and agility. This drill necessitates a series of complete direction changes with quick reaction time. Straightaway improves overall movement speed.
3 Step Front Back
This drill also requires three cones, also known as the 5-10-5, the most popular combine drill for measuring quickness and agility. This drill necessitates a series of complete direction changes with quick reaction time. Straightaway improves overall movement speed.
3 Cone Drill / 90 Degree Drill
The 3 Cone or “20 Degree Drill” is used to assess a sportsperson’s speed and agility. This drill requires several fast movement changes in different direction in a small area.
Run Shuffle Run
This drill is commonly used by soccer, baseball, tennis, and basketball players to improve their form while getting in and out of any position quickly and to improve the lateral shuffle. Furthermore, this drill improves foot strength and core strength, which is necessary for fast-paced movement in athletes.
Side Shuffle Run
A lateral shuffle requires abdominal and thigh strength, which is the primary focus of this drill. This is another excellent drill for defensive players because it improves high-speed close movements.
Staggered Shuffle
Another variation of the pro agility shuffle is the staggered shuttle. Similarly, the movements are identical. This drill specifically includes a quick change of direction that forces your overall foot muscles to get your footwork set into a powerful position.
Cones ranging in size from 6 to 12 inches are suitable for football, skating, cricket, basketball, agility, and other fitness training.
